Sankofa Parenting is a faith-centered initiative that supports Black families by creating a strong, sustainable ecosystem for Christian parenting.
We serve Black nuclear, blended, and intergenerational families—including adoptive, queer, and traditional families—honoring the many ways Black families love, care, and raise children across generations.
Rooted in Afrocentric values and Christian faith, Sankofa Parenting helps families draw wisdom from the past while building healthy, hopeful futures for children and caregivers alike.
What We Do
Equip parents and caregivers with faith-based, culturally grounded tools
Strengthen churches as centers of family support
Foster intergenerational connection and learning
Build community networks so families are never parenting alone
Why Sankofa Parenting
Parenting is sacred work—and it requires community.
Sankofa Parenting centers Black family experiences, affirms diverse family structures, and integrates faith, culture, and lived wisdom to help families thrive.
